Lauren Garten joined MSE as assistant professor last Fall. She has been awarded the prestigious Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award. The objectives of the YIP program are to attract outstanding faculty members of Institutions of Higher Education to the Department of the Navy's Science and Technology research program, to support their research, and to encourage their teaching and research careers. Lauren is one of two faculty at Georgia Tech selected to receive the ONR YIP award this year. Lauren is also the recipient of the AFOSR YIP award that she received last Fall.
